Israel Between Hamas, Iran, and Ukraine

Itai Engel

A series of intimate gatherings with inspiring individuals, for select Palmo clients and partners.
The gatherings take place at our office—no stage, no filters.

A few words about Etai Engel:

Winner of the Sokolov Prize for Journalism.
Nominee for the International Emmy Award.
Over the past 30 years, he has documented nearly every major conflict on the planet.
He recently returned from Damascus following the fall of the Assad regime.
The lecture will be accompanied by exclusive footage he has captured.

Everything we knew is changing.
In a completely unexpected attack, thousands of Hamas terrorists stormed into Israeli territory, entered more than 20 communities, and for hours on end massacred some 1,200 Israelis and abducted more than 200 others to Gaza.

There has been no greater surprise—and no greater intelligence failure—since Israel was established as a state.
And the greatest fear is of further surprises: from Hezbollah in the north, from the Shiite axis that Iran is establishing against the State of Israel, and now from the jihadists who have come to power in Syria following Assad’s fall.

There are some things you can only see when you go out into the field.

Etai Engel, winner of the Sokolov Prize for Journalism, will guide us through exclusive documentary footage from Gaza, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, and Ukraine to help us understand the new balance of power in our region.
In his lecture, he also explains how he operates behind the scenes in hostile countries.
How, as an Israeli, does he navigate places like Syria or Iraq—sometimes among Shiite militias loyal to Iran and in areas where ISIS jihadists are active?

Dynamic maps will illustrate how Iran is extending its reach all the way to our border, how it operates through Hezbollah, and how the State of Israel, for its part, has managed to take Iran and its proxies by surprise.

Itai Engel is the only Israeli reporter who has been covering conflicts in the Middle East and around the world for the past 30 years. In his lecture, he will provide us with an up-to-date picture from the field of the new forces emerging in our region and how the Middle East we once knew is falling apart.
